Equipping ECDE With Learning facilities

DDP equipped the pre-primary school with learning facilities that included installation of playing and sporting materials.

Ranena Junior Secondary School

Ranena Junior Secondary School, Kakelo Dudi.

Dudi Development Program (DDP), in partnership with WHH, established a fully operational modern learning facility to support both students and the surrounding community. The school was equipped with six modern classrooms, a state-of-the-art information resource center, sports and recreational facilities, uniforms for primary and junior secondary students, teachers’ accommodation, renovated school latrines, and essential learning materials. DDP further enhanced educational opportunities by providing access to a computer lab with 24 computers, internet services, and qualified instructors for digital literacy training. To promote equal access to clean water and sanitation, DDP installed two 10,000-litre rainwater harvesting tanks, ensuring water availability for both students and community members during dry seasons.

To safeguard the learning environment, DDP fenced the school compound, established a gated entrance with a watchman’s office, and installed electric sockets and lights in classrooms. Strategically placed solar-powered security lights were also installed to ensure nighttime safety during power outages. However, due to the increasing demand for digital literacy among students and the community, DDP plans to equip the resource center with solar power to prevent disruptions caused by prolonged blackouts or low voltage, ensuring uninterrupted access to education and training.

This initiative highlights DDP's commitment to inclusive education, community development, and resilience-building through sustainable resource management.

Ranena Community Resource Centre

The resource center is equipped with 24-hour CCTV surveillance, a computer lab, and a community conference hall, ensuring security and functionality for various activities. The computer lab offers access to 24 computers, projectors, and facilities essential for both learning and meetings. Serving as a pivotal hub, the center provides a wide range of services aimed at addressing local needs, including adult digital literacy programs, women empowerment initiatives, and resources like internet access and specialized training programs designed to transform lives.

The center also functions as a communal meeting space, where individuals can participate in seminars, workshops, and other events that foster shared experiences, build social networks, and strengthen community ties. Additionally, it offers practical services such as printing, photocopying, scanning, and cyber activities, further enhancing its role as a resilience hub that promotes social cohesion and contributes to the socio-economic development of the Ranena community. By providing a space for learning, connection, and empowerment, the resource center plays a crucial role in improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable development.
